Staff Check In

Prior to your arrival at RTC, update your vehicle stickers with the NAVSTA Great Lakes command sticker and obtain an RTC Square Knot sticker. Stickers and temporary passes can be obtained at the Badge and Pass Office in Bldg. 6130, Just north of the NSTC Main Gate. Ensure you have your driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and a copy of your orders with you.

If you are assigned to Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) prior to arriving to RTC for duty: You will need to check into BLDG 238, RM 230 with Mr. Davis or Mr. Barney. Phone number is (847) 688 4975.

If you are coming to RTC for duty and have attended JIT prior to reporting: You must then check into RTC, BLDG 7260 as stated below.

To enter RTC use the CAMP PORTER Gate, off Buckley Road. Once you are inside the base, proceed down Illinois Street and turn right onto the North Porter Grinder which is located on the South Side of MCPON Hall. Continue heading South until you reach the North End of RTC Chapel parking area. USS IOWA (Bldg. 7260) is located across the street from the RTC Chapel. Proceed into the West entrance to the window labeled RDC School and INDOC. Please check in at Room 104 during normal working hours 0730-1530.

If checking in after normal hours, please check in at USS IOWA (Bldg. 7260) at the Command Duty Office located on the bottom deck of USS IOWA. During the weekend utilize the North side (Main) entrance, and then check in with Command INDOC Room 104 the next working day at 0730.

Required PT attire for RDC School Students: Navy physical training uniform (PTU).
