Recruit Graduation

Recruit graduation is known as Pass-In-Review. It is a formal military ceremony which honors your recruit’s hard work and dedication to a new way of life, and ties together the future of the Navy with our long-held Naval traditions and customs.

These pages include all of the information you will need to visit your recruit for graduation, including the schedule of events and directions to RTC. Please review the information carefully. If you have additional questions not covered in these pages or in the Frequently Asked Questions, you may get in touch with RTC Public Affairs via the CONTACT page above.

Access list: Recruits are permitted to place up to four names on the access list for graduation (children under 12 do not need to be on the access list). Only the recruit may submit or change names, and no changes are permitted once the access list has been submitted to RTC Security the week prior to graduation. Please be sure to write to your recruit to let them know who will be attending.

Photo ID: All guests 18 and over must present an original and valid, government-issued photo identification to RTC Security to enter the base (driver’s license, passport, military ID, etc.).

Parking pass: Please visit the ‘Upcoming Graduations’ page to download your parking pass. You will need this pass to gain access to RTC on graduation day. Please note that passes will not be available for download until the week of graduation and are password protected, which was included in the letter sent when your Recruit first arrived.

Grad and Go: Some recruits will need to depart for their advanced training school immediately following graduation. These recruits are known as “Grad and Go”. When making plans to visit for graduation, please check with your recruit to ask when they are scheduled to depart for their next station as they are the only ones who can legally give you this information.

Below is a Family Guide published by RTC Public Affairs which should answer many questions you will have, both regarding graduation and general questions about your recruit’s time onboard RTC.
