Prior to your arrival at RTC, update your vehicle stickers with the NAVSTA Great Lakes command sticker and obtain a RTC Square Knot sticker. Stickers and temporary passes can be obtained at the Badge and Pass Office in Bldg. 6130, just north of the NAVSTA Main Gate. Ensure you have your driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and a copy of your orders with you. If you are under orders to attend Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) prior to reporting to Recruit Training Command, you will first check in at Building 520 Quarterdeck with the Command Duty Officer. Phone number is 1-847-688-3536. Once you have checked in with the Command Duty Officer, you will then proceed to JIT School BLDG 238, RM 230 and check in with JIT school staff. Phone number is (847) 688 4975. If you are reporting directly to RTC, enter RTC using the Camp Porter gate just off Buckley Road. Once inside the base, proceed south on Illinois Street. Continue heading south for approximately .25 miles until you reach the USS IOWA Bldg. 7260 located on your left hand side. Parking is directly across the street from the USS IOWA. Proceed into the West entrance to room 105, the Command Indoc office, during normal working hours, 0730-1530. If checking in after normal hours please check in at USS IOWA Bldg. 7260 with the Quarterdeck watch located in the center of Bldg 7260 and ensure to report to Command Indoc the next work day to complete your check in process.
