Congratulations on your selection to the STA-21 program, and Welcome Aboard! Your outstanding performance and enlisted service has resulted in your selection for this highly competitive program, and brought you to the rank of Officer Candidate in the CNO’s newest, highly-visible officer accession program. Although you officially become an Officer Candidate upon reporting, you will continue to receive your enlisted pay while studying in the STA-21 program as you transition from enlisted to officer. This transition can be difficult, especially for senior enlisted personnel. Begin preparing yourself mentally for the changes that entry into the STA-21 NSI program represents.

NSI is a unique, one-of-a kind, officer-accession education and training program. It is time-compressed and provides significant academic challenges.

Due to the compressed class schedule, you should make every effort to get your personal affairs in order prior to reporting to prevent unnecessary distractions during this essentialeducation and training evolution.
